Sasha was helping with experiments about Titans and how they're formed, when suddenly she gets injected with Titan spinal fluid. Instead of getting a Titan body however it makes her grow to the size of a 15 meter Titan, and gain the hunger for people of one. She begins moving through the city, swallowing people as she goes, until she begins to feel full and decides to rest.
Soon after Mikasa and Armin arrive to try and talk some sense to her but it's no use, as soon as she sees them she catches them in her hands. She first shoves Mikasa into her mouth as Armin can only look on and watch as Mikasa gets swallowed like the rest and he knows that fate awaits him.
